An ankle joint injection and aspiration are for patients with osteoarthritis or impingement causing recurrent synovitis of the ankle, an injection of steroid preparation may provide temporary relief. Intraarticular injection of local antiesthetic may aid pain control during closed reduction of ankle fractures.
